There’s probably never been a better time to talk about resilience than after the result from last night’s final at Wembley, particularly if you’re feeling emotionally drained from it all.
Imagine how the team and Gareth Southgate feel today! (I hope whatever disappointment fills them, they also have a huge amount of pride in themselves, their colleagues and manager for getting as far as they did.) 👏
And it made me think, that I can draw some parallels with the adrenalin the England team needed to get them all the way through the Euros to reach the final. At the start of the pandemic, we can probably say that we all had that adrenalin; we’d do whatever it took to keep our residents, ourselves and each other safe. And of course, that’s still true, but given the last year and a bit that we’ve all lived and worked through, it’s not surprising that our batteries are now pretty flat.
