Loneliness

Loneliness

Loneliness and mental health are closely linked. Many people who experience loneliness don’t recognise what they’re feeling and may feel helpless or alone, which can increase the risk of anxiety, depression and withdrawal. Understanding that loneliness is a natural human emotion – something we all experience at times – is an important first step towards taking action and seeking connection. Support is available from a wide range of organisations and community services, and reaching out can make a meaningful difference to wellbeing and recovery.
