Go Erin!

I am always in awe of anyone who spends their free time raising money for charity, but Erin really is going that extra mile.  Erin works in the Russets and when she’s not looking after our residents she’s been putting in the hours to train to be an mixed martial arts fighter.

In her words; “ I am taking part in one of the hardest challenges of my life. I am undergoing eight weeks of intensive training where I will be taken from a complete amateur to an MMA Fighter on my eighth week.

I am completing this challenge for two reasons. I am a firm believer that physical exercise is good for mental health. I have suffered from depression for several years now, and due to the loss of my grandfather last year, I went into a slumber. Completing this will give me a goal to aim for and keep me going. Cancer is very close to my family with both my mother and Grandmother having Cervical cancer and my Aunty suffering with many brain tumours.

Completing this will be a challenge, but I am mentally prepared for this and knowing that I will be raising money for such an amazing cause it will give me the drive.

If you would like to sponsor me, please log onto my just giving page: justgiving.com/erin-sheri and donate, I will be making weekly updates here on how my training is going etc. alternatively if you would like to support me and attend on the Night to the Black Tie event, please contact me on email, and I can send you ticket information.
